Linda Caisley is a BC Notary Public and a founding member of The Notary Group. With more than 40 years of experience working in legal services, Linda focuses primarily on estate planning and real estate matters.

Linda works from The Notary Group’s Kelowna office and also assists clients throughout British Columbia using the firm’s remote client program.

Linda’s Preferred Areas of Practice

  • Estate Planning; Wills, Powers of Attorney, Representation Agreements, Advance Directives and other estate planning documents for incapacity and death
  • Real estate: buying, selling or refinancing BC Real estate, as well as other property transfers
  • Family and Title Transfers: Adding or removing family members from title, survivorship applications and other changes to ownership
  • Notarizations: Affidavits, statutory declarations, certified true copies and other documents requiring a BC Notary

Experience and Background

Linda has worked in the legal services industry since the early 1980s, and has been a BC Notary Public since 2008. She is a founding member of The Notary Group and has extensive experience in both real estate transactions and estate planning.

Linda has continued her professional education throughout her career as a Notary, including advanced training in estate planning and specialized education in acting as an executor. She has taught courses in estate planning and charitable giving and has written and contributed to educational materials on estate planning and related topics. Linda is also co-author of You’re an Attorney under a Power of Attorney: A Practical Guide, a practical guide for people acting as attorneys under Powers of Attorney in British Columbia.

Before becoming a Notary, Linda worked for a number of large charitable organizations as an estate planner and fundraiser, helping philanthropists structure and manage private foundations. She also held the Certified Financial Planner designation for nearly 20 years, completed a Certificate in Financial Management at BCIT and completed the Canadian Securities Course. That financial background continues to inform her approach to estate planning and property matters.

  • Dr. Bernard W. Hoeter Award: awarded for achieving the highest overall marks on the BC Notaries’ Statutory examinations
  • University of British Columbia Award: awarded for achieving the highest marks on the BC Notaries’ Conveyancing examinations
